The X server is not threaded:

[junior] ~> ldd /usr/X11R6/bin/X
/usr/X11R6/bin/X:
         libc.so.5 => /usr/lib/libc.so.5 (0x2806a000)

That was supposed to be one of the great goals of X11R6, but it was
never completed, and I believe that most of the (incomplete) work has
long since been removed from XFree86.
