1. installed the 5.2-CURRENT-20031209 iso (cd-rom)
	- /		248MB
	- swap	102MB
	- /tmp	248MB
	- /usr	8.4G
	- /var	248MB

2. downloaded sources (cvsup) from cvsup2.de.freebsd.org

3. dropped some kernel options (modifiedKernel.txt)

4. cd /usr/src && make depend && make buildkernel KERNCONF=WORKING &&
make installkernel KERNCONF=NEW && reboot

after reboot:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
	panic: kmem_malloc(3203072): kmem_map too small: 25944064 total
allocated
	cpuid = 0;
	boot() called on cpu#0

	syncing disks....

------------------------------------------------------------------------
--

with additional 64mb everything is fine.

I hope it helps somehow.

Zoran
