After weighing all the options, I decided to go ahead and install Win 2k
from scratch.  XP wasn't terribly happy on this machine anyway (XP being
something of a hog) and I don't really need Windows for all that much.

GAG is a winner!  It was easy to install and is easy to use.  It worked
like a charm.  Thanks!
