I had the same problem on an IBM A30p with 5.1. Do this at the boot loader prompt: set hw.pci.allow_unsupported_io_range=1 That should take care of it. You'll need to place the part after 'set' in your /boot/device.hints file after you complete the install, otherwise your kernel will continue to fail at boot.
