Testing on -current has proven to be a bit of a problem. I've built a kernel using cvs HEAD src/sys (and src/usr.sbin/config), and I first tried the GENERIC config (to be as close to the binary distribution kernels as possible). The system boots fine, but doesn't bring up my network connection (provided by the dc driver) - as this is a headless box, I was left typing blindly from a terminal. With these issues I can't do a full upgrade to -current, but I've done some blind testing with the GENERIC kernel. Without the patch, the kernel still panics when attempting to run the Speedtouch software. With the patch in place, the panic is averted and the modem goes on to establish a connection. Any testing in -current beyond that is a bit difficult at the moment, for obvious reasons. :| Cheers, Jay - -- http://www.evilrealms.net/ - Systems Administrator & Developer http://www.ic.ac.uk/ - Imperial College, 2nd year CS student -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+uYWFfJLn3O/2GbERAu8GAJ0bJwuQ5W8N9S8R7IGYZTvQe4obQwCdGYEa 3PDqoHNkNMI3+RJkKSAxfxg= =L5Ok -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----Received on Wed May 07 2003 - 13:18:52 UTC
