This thread from my inital email to Bosko's explanation was about 4 emails long. My initial thoughts in the original email were actually correct, though it isn't specific to just ATA as I conceded in my second email and the basic explanation of "it's just Giant" I didn't fully understand and sought clarification on which Bosko provided. If that's too long for you then find some project where you can hang out with people who you never have to explain anything to and leave FreeBSD alone, since this project is made up of a wider community of people some of whom don't understand all the issues and would like someone to occasionally explain a thing or two to them.
