RE: ACPI issues with Compaq Evo N800w and 5.0-p7

The Evo N800 has some known issues with its DSDT (an ACPI table in the
ROM).
If it is possible to override the DSDT under FreeBSD, you might want to
try
the one on this website:

http://acpi.sourceforge.net/dsdt/view.php?id=24

Now, I know this is a Linux website, but it might give you some clues as
to
the ACPI issues with that laptop:

http://website.atix.de/dt/notebook/linux-compaq-evo-N800v.htm

Keep in mind that the Linux ACPI stack is slightly ahead of FreeBSD's,
so
someone's success with that laptop under Linux (with a modified DSDT)
may
not translate to the same success under FreeBSD today.
