Yes I do, NFS is virtually useless...

Could be, but its more than one type of card which suggests to me
its more "generic" in origin..

I can also lock it up with just reading, but it takes longer.

I think its a definite showstopper for 5.2 actually..

OK the worst server I've got has:
re0: <RealTek 8139C+ 10/100BaseTX> port 0xdc00-0xdcff mem 0xe4000000-0xe40000ff
irq 12 at device 9.0 on pci0
rlphy0: <RealTek internal media interface> on miibus0
rlphy0: 10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, auto
re1: <RealTek 8139C+ 10/100BaseTX> port 0xe000-0xe0ff mem 0xe4001000-0xe40010ff
irq 10 at device 10.0 on pci0
rlphy1: <RealTek internal media interface> on miibus1
rlphy1: 10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, auto
re2: <RealTek 8139C+ 10/100BaseTX> port 0xe400-0xe4ff mem 0xe4002000-0xe40020ff
irq 11 at device 11.0 on pci0
rlphy2: <RealTek internal media interface> on miibus2
rlphy2: 10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, auto

The clients use fxp/xl/sis cards and can all make this server hang in seconds..
