Me too - the cd burnt ok, but ended in an "input/output error".
Here's my goop:

# burncd -f /dev/acd0 -s max data 4.9-i386-disc1.iso fixate
next writeable LBA 0
writing from file 4.9-i386-disc1.iso size 655680 KB
written this track 655680 KB (100%) total 655680 KB
fixating CD, please wait..
burncd: ioctl(CDRIOCFIXATE): Input/output error

But the cd appears to function ok..
