Hi, recently I installed a win2k partition on this box. A reboot from windows into FreeBSD makes the bfe driver unusable, displaying: Apr 12 01:04:09 sarevok kernel: bfe0: BUG! Timeout waiting for bit 00000002 of register 42c to clear. Apr 12 01:04:09 sarevok kernel: bfe0: BUG! Timeout waiting for bit 00000002 of register 42c to clear. Apr 12 01:04:09 sarevok kernel: bfe0: BUG! Timeout waiting for bit 80000000 of register 428 to clear. Apr 12 01:04:10 sarevok kernel: bfe0: BUG! Timeout waiting for bit 80000000 of register 428 to clear. Apr 12 01:04:25 sarevok kernel: bfe0: BUG! Timeout waiting for bit 80000000 of register 428 to clear. This happens as soon as dhclient tries to use the card and it's downhill from there on. A complete shutdown and startup makes the card work again. I've seen this in various -CURRENT kernels, including the currently loaded one with sources from Apr 4. I can't vouch for any sources previous to Mar 15, as around that time is when I installed this Win2k partition. Dell Inspiron 8600, Broadcom BCM4401 Fast Ethernet> mem 0xfaffe000-0xfaffffff irq 11 at device 0.0 on pci2, with: $ cat /etc/start_if.bfe0 ifconfig bfe0 link 0:50:FC:51:05:DB so I can plug in to my parent's cable when I'm there. The Dell driver is the 'latest'. -- Melvyn ======================================================= FreeBSD sarevok.idg.nl 5.2-CURRENT FreeBSD 5.2-CURRENT #3: Sun Apr 4 02:24:06 CEST 2004 root_at_sarevok.webteckies.org:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/SAREVOK_NOAPM_NODEBUG i386 =======================================================
