I've installed the latest kde3 on 5 Athlon's with via chipset (all en one memory shared thingy) and even though they are cheapies, everything works well except for an issue with KsCD. It shows that it is playing the cd but no sound. I fire up xmms w/cdread and it works out of the box and with sound :). KaudioCreator seems to rip fine and the mp3's and/or waves work fine. The part that I have a hard time with and the reason I'm sending this to current rather than questions is that I have the idea that the problem may lie with the via chipset and may not be a problem in stable or even other versions of current. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, ed P.S. Version info.
