VMWare, FreeBSD 5.2

I just downloaded and installed FreeBSD 5.2 on VMWare Workstation 4.0, on boot (even from cd) it crashes unless I boot into safe mode. Someone in an irc room mentioned I should forward this info here.

If you need more details I'll provide, just let me know, it's late and I don't feel like making a list.
