Just to add some more details to this, I have not yet updated my
-CURRENT machines with des' new file descriptor code, but I have been
hearing a lot of complaints from users trying to build various ports
that use GNU configure.  Below is the error they see.  This seems to be
directly related to the new file descriptor code, and only seems to
happen with configure is spawned from make (as tested by bland).
