Let me add a me-too to that.

exactly the same symptoms.

cd cdrive is a newish memorex. 

Also with this kernel glx linux games (tribes2) run like a complete dog.
5-10 seconds between screen updates. Using the nvidia glx drivers. Has
linuxulator changed in the last couple of weeks?
