I do run cvsup without -s: 'cvsup -L2 /root/supfile-cvs'

/root/supfile-cvs:
*default host=cvsup2.za.freebsd.org
*default base=/usr
*default prefix=/usr
*default prefix=/home/ncvs
*default release=cvs
*default compress

cvsroot-common
src-all
ports-all

Maybe I missed something in the cvsup configuration file.
