Some applications (such as fetch(1)) would work better with an
actual HTTP 301 than a Meta Refresh. This is good for
people without a graphical browser, or whathaveyou. I
understand that reading for the new URL in the page is a
trivial task, but it's still nice to not have to.
Just my $0.02.
