Hi! For a while now my parallel port (with printer hooked up) has been *really SLOW*. Takes several minutes to print a single very simple page. Any idea how to debug or what to try/fix? All I see in the log is: Jul 15 17:28:50 palle kernel: stray irq7 $ dmesg | grep "irq 7" ppc0: <Parallel port> at port 0x378-0x37f irq 7 on isa0 and relevant dmesg lines are: ... sio0: configured irq 4 not in bitmap of probed irqs 0 sio0: port may not be enabled sio0 at port 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4 flags 0x10 on isa0 sio0: type 8250 or not responding sio1: configured irq 3 not in bitmap of probed irqs 0 sio1: port may not be enabled ppc0: <Parallel port> at port 0x378-0x37f irq 7 on isa0 ppc0: SMC-like chipset (ECP/EPP/PS2/NIBBLE) in COMPATIBLE mode ppc0: FIFO with 16/16/16 bytes threshold ppbus0: <Parallel port bus> on ppc0 lpt0: <Printer> on ppbus0 lpt0: Interrupt-driven port ppi0: <Parallel I/O> on ppbus0 unknown: <PNP0303> can't assign resources (port) unknown: <PNP0401> can't assign resources (port) Timecounter "TSC" frequency 2088083711 Hz quality 800 Timecounters tick every 0.801 msec ... uname -a FreeBSD palle.girgensohn.se 5.2-CURRENT FreeBSD 5.2-CURRENT #10: Mon Jul 12 01:59:18 CEST 2004 root_at_palle.girgensohn.se:/usr/obj/4/usr/5src/sys/PALLE i386 but I think I cvs:ed it about four weeks ago, kern.osreldate: 502119 /PalleReceived on Thu Jul 15 2004 - 13:42:44 UTC
