Hi, running 5.2.1 nicely on HP compaq nx9005. This laptop has onboard LAN, firewire, DVD ROM/CD-Writer, USB 2.0 but also old style serial, parallel and floppy drive. Soundcard works fine, gfx card needs X Server better than XFree86 4.3, I am running 4.3.99. Only the built in wavelan card is not supported, but have not yet tried to use ndisulator (Project Evil). You might use the PowerNow kernel modul from http://poupinou.org/cpufreq/bsd/ because runnung the cpu on highes speed is not preferable (temp, noise, battery life time), but see this bice howto for FreeBSD on this Laptop: http://demira.shopkeeper.de/~sascha/nx9005/ -- /\/\ichael Ranner mranner_at_inode.at - mranner_at_jawa.at - mranner_at_bugat.at ----------------------------------------------------- BSD Usergroup Austria - http://www.bugat.at/ -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- GIT/CS/AT dx(-) s+:(++:) a- C++ UBLVS++++$ P++>+++$ L-(+)$ E--- W+++$ N+(++) o-- K- w--()$ O-(--) M_at_ V-(--) PS+>++ PE(-) Y+ PGP(-) t+ 5+ X+++(++++) R* tv++ b+(++) DI++ D-(--) G- e h--(*) r++ y? ------END GEEK CODE BLOCK------Received on Thu Jul 22 2004 - 05:51:29 UTC
