The man page for atkbd on a 5.2 box says: By default the atkbd driver will install even if a keyboard is not actually connected to the system. So the default behavior of FreeBSD is to override the default behavior of the atkbd driver - which seems quite bizarre. Any chance that flag/hint could be changed in the default install?
