Just to add a data point- I installed FreeBSD 5.2 or thereabouts on a 386DX machine some months ago without any unexpected trouble. (The expected trouble involved making a custom world and set of installation floppies.) I think I set it up to act as a firewall/router, but don't remember if I tested it out much. It's currently in storage.so I can't fire it up to play with too easily. JNReceived on Mon Oct 18 2004 - 00:26:36 UTC
