FreeBSD 6.0-BETA2: fatal trap on Acer TravelMate 290

Hi,

tried to install FreeBSD 6.0-BETA2 on my Acer TravelMate 290 laptop (model 
292LCMi if I recall correctly), but it dies with a page fault when loading the 
kernel. I can get to the boot loader prompt, the page fault occurs during 
hardware probe for USB controllers.

I know there's been issues installing 5.x on these laptops, and I have not been 
able to install 5.3 or 5.4 on it. With 6.0-beta2 I tried with "Legacy USB 
support" enabled and disabled in BIOS, and by en/disabling ACPI from the boot 
loader prompt, but to no avail.
