Almost. :-( Moving the directories went all fine, except /tmp/base/lib/libcrypt.so.2 -> /lib/libcrypt.so.2 "Operation not permitted" I did succeed with cp -p /tmp/base/lib/libcrypt.so.2 /lib/libcrypt.so.2.521 but I can't find a way to delete /lib/libcrypt.so.2 chmod 644 /lib/libcrypt.so.2 - fails unlink /lib/libcrypt.so.2 - fails I tried both in single-user- and in multi-user-mode. I also tried changing securelevel (after http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-questions/2003-July/013601.html): i.e. adding this to /etc/rc.conf: kern_securelevel_enable="YES" # kernel security level (see init(8)), kern_securelevel="-1" which gives $ sysctl -a|grep securelevel kern.securelevel: -1 but I can't still get rid of /lib/libcrypt.so.2 Any hints?
