Well, I didn't listen and got it to compile, thanks to your guideline.
However, the drm fails to attach and do anything usefull.

I have a Radeon Mobility 9600 Pro Turbo (or so, I was told), in my Dell
Inspiron 8600c Laptop.

pciconf says this:

acpi_video0_at_pci1:0:0:	class=0x030000 card=0x20011028 chip=0x4e501002
rev=0x00 hdr=0x00
    vendor   = 'ATI Technologies Inc'
    device   = 'Mobility Radeon 9700 (M10 NP) (RV350)'
    class    = display
    subclass = VGA

after disabling acpi_video, drm attached successfully and seems to be
working (quick test with glxgears only)

drm0_at_pci1:0:0:	class=0x030000 card=0x20011028 chip=0x4e501002 rev=0x00
hdr=0x00
    vendor   = 'ATI Technologies Inc'
    device   = 'Mobility Radeon 9700 (M10 NP) (RV350)'
    class    = display
    subclass = VGA

I remember there was some talk on current_at_ about this issue with
attaching multiple drivers to the video card. Has there been any
progress?
