I have a system with >90k users (in LDAP) and it takes quite some time to find out the longest (just to cut the number down to 13 afterwards anyway). This even happens with "-u" in the standard top. After being tired of 10 seconds startup time for top if ifdef'd the code in my sourcetree (-STABLE in that case) and everything is fine. Guess I'm not the only one to have "a few more" system users... - Oliver -- | Oliver Brandmueller | Offenbacher Str. 1 | Germany D-14197 Berlin | | Fon +49-172-3130856 | Fax +49-172-3145027 | WWW: http://the.addict.de/ | | Ich bin das Internet.
