You can, but you may have reduced functionality (particularly if ACPI
supports thermal zones).

Fedora doesn't use ACPI by default I don't think. They may also suppress
the messages.

Again, the messages are largely harmless.  I suspect its due to using a
very old ACPI compiler and specification.
