Hello people, anyone else is having problems when trying to do sound recording (with gnome-sound-recorder or having a conversation at Skype, for example) with a SiS 7018 (on-board) soundcard? dmesg tell me this: pcm0:record:0: record interrupt timeout, channel dead and Skype stderr shows: /dev/dsp-1: Device or resource busy I had that error on FreeBSD 5.4 already, and thought that maybe 6.0 could had solved that. The machine is running 6.0RC1, with (the default) GENERIC kernel. Maybe changing the modules? openglx_at_volahia:~$ kldstat Id Refs Address Size Name 1 21 0xc0400000 62f584 kernel 2 1 0xc0a30000 45b8 snd_t4dwave.ko 3 2 0xc0a35000 1d908 sound.ko 4 1 0xc0a53000 32c4 sis.ko 5 2 0xc0a57000 eeec drm.ko 6 16 0xc0a66000 568bc acpi.ko 7 1 0xc1bf7000 e000 ext2fs.ko 8 1 0xc1cbf000 2000 fire_saver.ko 9 1 0xc1cdd000 15000 linux.ko 10 4 0xc1d68000 a000 netgraph.ko 11 1 0xc1d76000 3000 ng_ether.ko 12 1 0xc1d7a000 5000 ng_pppoe.ko 13 1 0xc1d82000 4000 ng_socket.ko openglx_at_volahia:~$ cat /dev/sndstat FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm) Installed devices: pcm0: <SiS 7018> at io 0xde00 irq 10 kld snd_t4dwave (4p/1r/4v channels duplex default) And I do already have this sysctls for sound: hw.snd.pcm0.vchans=4 hw.snd.maxautovchans=4 Could this be a soundcard problem? I wouldn't be surprised, as the sis driver for X.org just reboots my machine (problem already solved if I use the vesa driver).
