wi seems to call into the network layer with its private driver locks
held.  This looks similar to other LORs I've seen with wi.  I think
that's the problem, but I haven't had time to investigate the issue
since I noticed it.  Sam was saying that iwi suffers from the same
issue...

I don't think it is hostap releated at all.
