I never did anything with the kernel or loading modules either, installing samba from ports enabled me to mount NTFS and other MS shares without problem. Then, a couple of weeks ago, the problem began. There was a thread about it and the solution was add to NETSMBCRYPTO to the kernel. The note in UPDATING came after that. It was no longer, as near as I see from UPDATING, necessary to add NETSMBCRYPTO but one would need NETSMB or else kldload smbfs. In my case, I haven't updated the servers that needed this in a couple of weeks, so I haven't tested if it can just be fixed by kldloading smbfs. Sorry for the lack of clarity in my earlier post. - -- Scott Robbins PGP keyID EB3467D6 ( 1B48 077D 66F6 9DB0 FDC2 A409 FA54 EB34 67D6 ) gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys EB3467D6 Xander: Dinner is served.
