I would gladly volunteer to take this over. I committed the midi patches to -current. What about jumping into the cold water and "just start"? If you don't know where to start: - have a look at what the guys over at opensound.com provide (midi docs) - have a look what FreeBSD is able to do - make a list what it does wrong or not at all - have a look at how the current code handles the existing functionality - try to fix wrong parts - try to implement missing parts A lot of this does not depend upon knowledge of device driver programming, but it depends upon people with interest in MIDI and MIDI-equipment. I don't have much knowledge about MIDI, I don't have MIDI equipment, and I don't know much about the internals of the midi code, but I can help finding solutions to a problem. > I've got a nice Yamaha synth (keyboard) sitting here just gathering > dust since I quit using Windows altogether (used to use it with > Cakewalk).
