pcictl/netbsd = pciconf/freebsd, sorry I should I mentioned that

it's the M7 vs the M22, I have this is X11 startup:

One of the things I was thinking of trying is to toggle
the BIOS setting PCI/AGP for the LCD display, maybe that will make
a difference. I never understood why that is configurable in a
laptop, either it has AGP or it doesn't you'd think.
