If you absolutely need to use a monitor, you can get the sync on green with
fairly minimal electronic tinkering. On sparc64, it should be easier to get
a serial cable to work though, no?

You can use an LM1881 sync separator to take the sync out of the green and
split it into hsync and vsync. A number of schematics can be found online.

A serial cable should be simpler though. :-)

If you're early, it'll be cancelled.
If you knock yourself out to be on time, you will
     have to wait.
If you're late, you will be too late.
