I have such a board and I recall having to change the mode of the SATA controller for it to work. I think its turning off legacy mode. I also seem to recall having to fiddle with some USB options as well. I was running 6.1 and recently upgraded the box to RELENG_6 as of oct 25 and the box continued to work fine.
