kill hangs with csh

Hi list,
Running CURRENT as a recent as yesterday.
I've observed, that while using csh
kill `pgrep someprog`

Hangs.  I am aware one can do 'pkill someprog' but this could be a bug 
in csh.  I tested this with sh and kill `pgrep someprog` works fine.  
csh on FreeBSD 6.2 will work with the above mentioned.
