So far I've found this: http://www.archivum.info/zfs-discuss_at_opensolaris.org/2007-07/msg00016.html which doesn't mention panics; and this: http://www.archivum.info/zfs-discuss_at_opensolaris.org/2007-07/msg00054.html which didn't get any replies but the backtrace doesn't include anything resembling a malloc-like call.
