That is weird because:

flosoft# fetch -s
ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/ports/ports.tar.gz > ports.size
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
flosoft# cat ports.size
flosoft# uname -a
FreeBSD flosoft.no-ip.biz 8.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 8.0-CURRENT #1: Tue Jan
22 23:37:49 EST 2008 
aryeh_at_flosoft.no-ip.biz:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/MONSTER  amd64

The only difference in MONSTER vs. GENERIC is I added IPI_PREEMPTION
and removed the debugging options.
