I used to be able to compile and serve up files via NFS / samba without my desktop/laptop skipping a frame of decent quality video over my gigabit ethernet here at home, but now it appears to have gone downhill a bit (well, that's what I noticed since my last update which was ~14 days ago, e.g. BETA1 -- I just updated tonight so we'll see what happens now...).
