Actually the trouble with the mouse started with the USB2 stack. It 
never worked properly since then.
First I thought it's an X problem, then a KDE4 problem, and after 
rebuilding and rebuilding I gave up..

but it doesn't change the situation. There is still the lag. Plugging 
keyboard and mouse in on the back port of the PC
