it is on on my 8-box :

 [root_at_siamesetwins ~]# uname -a
 FreeBSD siamesetwins 8.0-RC1 FreeBSD 8.0-RC1 #0: Sat Oct  3 19:22:51
 CEST 2009     toor_at_siamesetwins:/zfiles/obj/raid1/bsd/8/src/sys/S3992-E amd64
 [root_at_siamesetwins ~]# ifconfig bge0
 bge0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500
         options=9b<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,VLAN_MTU,VLAN_HWTAGGING,VLAN_HWCSUM>

That said, I will test with explicit enabling and disabling ?xcsum on my
troublesome box (which is a lab-fileserver, I doubt a bit the
performance penalty (though most clients are 100Mbps linux))

Best, Arno
