Unable to full shutdown FreeBSD 9.0-RC1

"shutdown -p now" and "halt -p" only turn off my screen and keep the power
led on and does not spin down my HDD.

I need someone help to solve this issue and i am willing to give some debug
log but i am not familiar how to get it.
