Fbsd8 raised some legitimate issues that average users are going to hit and complain about. I think it is worth taking some extra time to fix the man pages, *and* add useful error messages to the utilities. You raised some valid points that burncd and atacontrol are affected utilities. There may be some other utilities or 3rd party ports that may be affected that we haven't thought about yet. I am not sure if cdcontrol(1) will be affected, but it looks like that works with CAM and the old ATA subsystem, so it may be OK. I took a second look at your patch to burncd, and I don't think it is a good enough fix. I am working on a patch now, which I will submit soon. -- Craig Rodrigues rodrigc_at_crodrigues.orgReceived on Tue Sep 27 2011 - 05:10:08 UTC
