I think you may be hitting the libthr issue that was introduced in r234947 (Thu May 3 09:17:31 2012 UTC) and fixed in r235068 (Sat May 5 23:51:24 2012 UTC). This caused some programs to randomly bomb out with bus errors or other weirdness.
