Oh I did include MDROOT in my kernel, as the PR's attached files will
show.  I had to take _all_ bits dealing with 'md' out of the kernel
for it to boot-up w/o a panic.
(was hoping to use md as a RAMdisk thing, otherwise it's no loss for me,
but I did want to report it asap before -Release was affected, since
it is included in GENERIC.)
(btw I keep forgetting to include a sig)
