libc_r's wrapped version of write()

It's been just over three days since this was committed.  No problem 
reports have arrived, but that may be because this fringe case hasn't 
been tested.

A test is a tape backup which exceeds the tape size (i.e. spans two 
tapes).  Can anyone try that test for me please?
