This is most likely bad hardware or cooling. You noted that you aren't
running overclocked, but is your CPU cooler and case air circulation
sufficient? buildworld generates a LOT of CPU load and therefore heat.
You might try installing the mbmon port (or whatever is appropriate for
your system) or watching hw.acpi.thermal if your system registers thermal
zones.
