   There are lots of things in FreeBSD which will seem like overkill to some
people.  Most people don't need the complexity of the timecounter system;
most people don't need the generality of GEOM classes; most people don't
need to be able to update to any point on any CVS branch; many people don't
need fine-grained locking... you get the picture.
   The only problem is that "overkill" depends upon your point of view.  Matt
has decided that, for what he wants DFly to be, the timecounter system is
overkill; phk decided that for FreeBSD, it isn't overkill.  There is no
contradiction here, merely different goals.
