So would the latter be the better set to try?  Are they essentially the
same, only one is more "merge-ready"?

So, which would be my best choice in soundcard for working with the new
MIDI, Audigy or SBLive!?  Currently, I have neither one, but not a
problem; I'm sure I could afford to replace my card.  :-)
