I think Mozilla is looking for the right ipv6 records on DNS servers (mostly ad sites) that don't support it, and it hangs waiting for a reply. Once it's past the reply (1 minute, 2 minutes?), it's fast. I disabled ipv6 in my kernel, and all seems happy. Well, except a few things, but mostly everything is better.
