When I bought my Asus P4G8X with sil3112 the support for this chipset was not in current at all. Ok .. sil3112 appears to be crappy, bad luck ... I bought now asus p4p800 and again for example it has vt6410 on board, also no support for this chipset in current , ok , forget it .. lets use ICH5 was running ok with 4 hdd in it .. after I add scsi controller .. crash crash and crash. Ok, I have changed the mobo to asus p4g8x , I disabled sil3112 controller, I put 2 ide drives + 2 scsi drives.. looks like working, now I just add old hardware: promise ultra100 controller with 2 ide drives connected to it ... bum - again crash. I like freebsd, I do, but it's really hard time to find working hardware with 5.2.. > > -- > Brad Knowles, <brad.knowles_at_skynet.be> > > "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary > safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." > -Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania. > > GCS/IT d+(-) s:+(++)>: a C++(+++)$ UMBSHI++++$ P+>++ L+ !E-(---) W+++(--) > N+ > !w--- O- M++ V PS++(+++) PE- Y+(++) PGP>+++ t+(+++) 5++(+++) X++(+++) > R+(+++) > tv+(+++) b+(++++) DI+(++++) D+(++) G+(++++) e++>++++ h--- r---(+++)* > z(+++) > _______________________________________________ > freebsd-current_at_freebsd.org mailing list > http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-current > To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-current-unsubscribe_at_freebsd.org" > >Received on Thu Mar 11 2004 - 15:12:55 UTC
