Well, it try to use compressed tarballs and it isn't any 
compress/gzip/bzip2 lib out of /usr, wich is not mounted.

Also, a /var tarball seems the easy option for the boot chicken/egg 
problem about this dir (have nfs/mount status under /var).

If you think really go with this, please, speak loud and clear before.

Compressed tarball are the most standard and secure way for net boot and 
are in real use.

My 2x250 GB HD doesn't have any problem with the 2 MB stand.
