I installed 5.3 RC1 on my Dell Inspiron today and
did the following

mount ad2s1a on /mnt
mount ad2s1d on /mnt/usr

cd /mnt/usr

ls

cd /mnt

umount /mnt/usr 

ls -l

panic: vrle: negative ref cnt

cpuid = 0
Uptime: 8m10s
